Dear members, friends and supporters, one may wonder why children in need in Africa should be supported in these times – in view of the many trouble spots that are occurring all over the world. The answer is simple: The fact that Africa is currently not in the media spotlight does not mean that children are not starving, neglected or even abused and need our protection. Bombs are by no means the only threat to children. Our orphanages are still very popular, children are still infected with HIV and would die if they do not receive help. We were able to see the success of our joint efforts again during our project visits: children who grow up free and safe, young people who find their way through difficult phases, young adults in their careers, some of whom have already created jobs themselves or care for family members. The long-term nature and sustainability of our work makes it possible to make these successes visible. In Africa, too, it takes a few years for a child in misery to become a teacher, a doctor, an accountant or a craftswoman! Is it better to provide help elsewhere because other crises are more present? Our answer is no – and we are very, very grateful to our sponsors for having the vision to stay on course! This applies not only to the educational promotion of young people, but also in particular to the sustainability of our orphanages, schools, safe houses, workshops and farms. We were able to modernize and expand the Canaan orphanage, create and develop income support, improve the water supply, provide food aid, order the purchase of a school bus, expand solar systems, equip a computer room, but also improve the psychological care of the children and young people. Conclusion: This year, we have taken a good step forward towards the sustainability of our facilities in the sense of long-term independence. We will continue to work towards this goal as well as on the further promotion of our children and young people - until they stand on their own feet. And the following still applies: all administrative costs are borne privately and we take care of them personally. Thanks in advance to everyone who continues to support us! Short version: Ten steps to success! In ten steps from the beginnings of help to independent living - that is our goal for every child, woman or See the film: family that we take into the funding. The following chapters show how this can be achieved, in which the individual measures are described in more detail. If you can't study the entire annual report in detail, this overview provides a good summary for you: Education from A to Z! Many organizations stop after school education – or at the latest after training or studying. However, we spend a lot of time, energy and ultimately financial resources to make sure that the young people can stand on their own feet. Otherwise, everything done before makes no sense! 3
Current developments in 2025/26 Outreach & Emergency Aid Taking in new children in one of our orphanages requires that our teams, but also we personally, get an idea of the situation on site. We like to use our project visits on site to look at the situation of children in person again and again, even if it is challenging. It is always difficult to digest when you have to realize that children are the victims of poverty, hunger, disease or social neglect. We need to take a close look at where help is most urgently needed, where it exceeds the competencies of our teams (e.g., in the case of severe mental disabilities) and where it is possible to provide appropriate assistance to children. We would be happy to take a personal look at the situation of children in need on site and see for ourselves. We were able to successfully continue the process of new admissions to both orphanages and can only pay tribute to our social workers. Working with children, some of whom are traumatized, have behavioural problems and are "difficult" as a result, is anything but easy and requires their commitment around the clock. The fact that these children become open-minded young people who are willing to learn within a relatively short time is based on their commitment, but also to the conditions available to them – which we were able to create through donations. These children survived! In the 1st step, we identify special cases of hardship and look for solutions for children in need. • Project partners: Living Water Orphanage, Canaan Orphanage for HIV-Positive Children, TRMEGA Program for Children in Need, Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children in Monduli. We have used this year's donations to support these "outreach activities": mainly for transport, first aid material and immediate treatment of disabled children, initial accommodation for children in emergency situations. Future: donations are still needed for these outreach activities. • • 4
Treatment & Therapy It happens again and again that we have to support children acutely with food already in the situation of finding them because they are starving. This is followed by a thorough examination in the hospital for HIV status – with appropriate medication if necessary – and general health parameters. Many children from neglect are wormed, have tuberculosis or other infectious diseases. Children with disabilities are checked and further treated in the rehabilitation centre in Monduli, which we support. Children with physical disabilities receive the necessary treatment after admission to our orphanages – for example, the correction of leg deformities that often occur in the children of the Maasai due to contaminated drinking water. The admission of children with disabilities to our orphanages poses great challenges for our teams: at the Living Water Children Centre there is a specialized worker ("Special Needs Teacher"), a teacher who is trained to deal with mild handicaps. But how do you distinguish a profound disability from a slight developmental delay due to the circumstances of your early life? Our member Johanna Flümann, child and adolescent psychologist, and her partner Finn Ramann as a prospective special education teacher took care of the psychological side of treatment during their stay and were able to give some advice to the teams. In the 2nd step, we first have sick or disabled children treated in order to make them fit for school. Traumatised children receive psychological support. • Project partners: Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children in Monduli, Canaan Orphanage, Living Water Children Centre Last year, we used donations to support outreach and treatment for the children and their mothers. Future: Procurement of prosthesis material, psychological counselling of social workers, supervision, psychotherapeutic work with children and adolescents. 5 • •
Support Our programs and institutions also take care of the children's (remaining) families – even if they have been taken in by one of our orphanages. But children and young people who can still live with their mothers or relatives during the holidays also need close care. To this end, the centre directors, social workers and also we as "Partnership for Africa" regularly visit these families. It is also a matter of checking whether these places are safe or whether the children are still exposed to dangers. The goal is always to maintain contact with family members, but not at any price. HIV-positive children have to take their medication regularly, otherwise the viral load increases and they get sick. Our centre managers and social workers regularly check that our children are in good health and can safely stay with relatives. A large number of children and adolescents do not live in the orphanages, but are accommodated and cared for in their remaining families. This has many advantages, but also harbours dangers: often the dwellings are located in slum districts with high crime or there are intra-family dangers, such as alcohol abuse or violence. As third step, we help orphans and adolescents to continue living in their rest families if there is no immediate danger. We finance schooling, living expenses and medical care and support the rest families (mothers, grandmothers, aunts) by helping them to help themselves (step 7). • Project partners: TRMEGA program for at-risk children from the slums of the city of Arusha and the surrounding area, but also Canaan Orphanage and Living Water Children Centre • Donations: Used for school fees, school materials and the livelihood of the children and young people. • Future: In the coming years, donations will be needed every year for this large and important part of our task in order to enable the children to attend school. Our motto: "No child should be taken out of school!" 6
Orphanages The accommodation of children in one of our orphanages is always necessary when the family environment does not allow the child to grow up safely. Our two orphanages are the point of contact for the accommodation of children that our teams bring out of emergency situations. Canaan Centre Our Canaan Centre for HIV-Positive Children is extremely grateful for the extensive modernization we have been able to carry out over the past two years, because after 13 years of operation time had taken toll on buildings and infrastructure. The play and learning house, which opened in 2025, closes a large gap that was created by the conversion of the old buildings into a nurses' residence. The transition of the centre management to religious sisters was harmonious, although the upcoming challenges are great and it will certainly take time until all routines are in place. The children have already taken the "Sisters" to their hearts - and vice versa. The handover of the administrative processes is laborious, the centre is large and multifaceted. During our project visits, we conducted workshops with old and new management, helping to shed light on financial planning, fundraising, human resource management, and engineering. Living Water Children Center Also, the Living Water Children Centre was able to take in new children last year – some of them had previously lived on the streets and it was a difficult task to get them used to a normal daily routine in the orphanage. The team of social workers and special education teacher does valuable work here and in a very short time you can already see the first successes. Nevertheless, these children often carry trauma with them - be it through the loss of parents, illness, the fight for food on the street or experiences of violence. It is always surprising that children who come out of poverty and neglect find a connection to the centre community in a very short time. This year, therefore, we focused on both further training the employees in dealing with behavioural problems and on providing more close psychological support for the children. The cooperation with the local organization Minova has proven to be an excellent choice – the Minova team of doctors and psychotherapists is now deployed to all our programs and facilities. In the 4th step , we place children out of acute need and danger in one of our orphanages in order to accommodate them safely. • Project partner: Living Water Children Centre (LWCC), Canaan Centre This year we used donations for infrastructure, new buildings, food/clothing/care, school fees, psychological support. Future: We still need donations for food, clothing and care, as well as further investment in income-generating measures for long-term financial independence. • • 8
Orphanage Farms This year again, we invested part of the donations received in the expansion of income-generating projects. This includes the orphanage farms of the Canaan Centre and the Living Water Children Centre. The latter benefited from the investment in a farm pick-up vehicle and is already contributing to the centre’s cost recovery. However, it takes time to turn uncultivated soil into a "flourishing" farm, and so some yields will have to be reinvested in the coming years. On the other hand, the Canaan farm is still in its infancy – its operation is difficult mainly because there is no groundwater (a borehole to 100 meters 10 years ago was unfortunately unsuccessful). Therefore, the expansion of milk and pig production can only take place as quickly or slowly as additional water capacities can be created. As a consequence, a section of the fence of the Centre must be closed and the water pipe must be monitored or made superfluous by even more collection capacities. 9
Preschool, Primary & Secondary Schools The origin of our schools was the necessity not to leave the orphans of our orphanages in the governmental schools. The children, most of whom come to the orphanages with traumatic experiences, would probably have “drowned” in classes of 80 children and partly no teaching staff. Therefore, the plans for 2026 envisage the construction of an inclusive preschool at the Canaan Centre, which will better prepare the children for the upcoming school lessons in primary school. Many of the children have not had any contact with pen and paper at the time of admission and speak different dialects. An alignment of performance levels is therefore urgently needed - and also the joint teaching of children with moderate handicaps or HIV infection. Priorities in 2025: • Renovation of Yakini Primary School • Food aid, water, school supplies • New computer class Yakini Secondary School • The new inclusive preschool for the Canaan Centre The Yakini Primary School was completely renovated last year, which was highly needed. Over the years, we have helped to create an excellent school not only for orphans, but also for all other children in the vicinity who have the opportunity to go to "Yakini" as paying students. 10
The Yakini Secondary School, an equally excellent school that is an enrichment for the region as a whole, was supported this year with a newly equipped computer class. In addition, the schools received a generous donation for food, water and school materials (Sternstunden e.V.), which was able to relieve the cost situation considerably and helped to ensure that the children were well cared for. The new equipment of the computer room of the secondary school now ensures that IT lessons can be carried out at a high technical level, and food aid also provides good learning conditions. In the 5th step , we ensure that our pre and primary schools provide our orphans and young people with a good education. Project partner "Living Water Children Centre (LWCC)" as a non-profit umbrella organization for orphanages, schools, farms, safehouses, youth workshops. Use of the donations: food aid, school supplies, water (Sternstunden e.V.), as well as a computer room for the secondary school could be financed. The Primary School was extensively renovated. Future: There is an urgent need for a new school bus as well as for the renovation of the Secondary School. • • • 11
Training, Studies & Promotion of Excellence We are always thrilled when our protégés graduate from school, although they had anything but good starting conditions. This is a major milestone, the prerequisite for qualified vocational training, attendance at secondary high school and then perhaps even a course of college or university study. In the meantime, we are almost "victims" of our own good support, because comparatively many young people even make it to a bachelor's or master's degree. While many organizations focus on school education, we are convinced that this is far from the end of the story. Wouldn’t it be a shame if we leave these talents with further promotion? Japhet is one of our "talents" and wants to study physics, Witness already has a master's degree in marketing and works at the German Westerwelle Foundation in Arusha. This year we supported: 6 apprenticeships 4 students in the Master ́s program 13 university scholarship holders 7 college students 16 high school students • • • • • In step 6, we award scholarships for a craft apprenticeship, college or study. • Project partners: TRMEGA program for at-risk children, orphanages and schools (Canaan Centre, Living Water and Yakini Schools). We used this year's donations for the costs of education as well as fees for colleges and universities. This also includes living expenses, books, accommodation and transport Future: We still need donations every year to finance training and study fees. 12 • •
Vocational Training & Business start-ups Youth workshops & safe houses The continuation of our successful holiday and weekend seminars in our Safehouse workshops is already bearing fruit: a number of the participating orphans have opted for practical vocational training after school, whereas until recently this was associated with a certain stigma of inferiority. Now the students have made the experience that practical work is not only fun, but can also be the basis for a stable income. Because of the practice learned in holiday and weekend courses, the students get better access to vocational training (Funding Klaus and Lore Rating Foundation). In addition, psychosocial counselling and group seminars take place. The transition from life in a sheltered orphanage to life in the outside world is not easy for many young people. Many of them still carry unprocessed traumas with them, which sometimes only manifest in young adulthood in the form of behavioral problems. That is why we have supplemented the practical training program with psychological group seminars and therapeutic individual consultations. According to the motto: if you can bake rolls, it is of no use to you if you are mentally unable to take your life into your own hands and take personal responsibility. The cooperation with the Moshi-based organization Minova has proven to be an excellent choice. With the help of the local teams, we were able to help one or the other student to get back on track this year. 13
Training & Business Start-ups In view of the high unemployment, it is not so easy to find a job in Tanzania even with a good degree or completed training. Even or especially young academics find it difficult to find their way. That's why we accompany young people during their training, college and studies – in some cases even during their school years – and prepare them for their later entry into a profession or self-employment . . To this end, we conduct a year-round seminar series during the school and semester breaks, sometimes also on weekends, which take up topics that are considered particularly relevant by the team and by us. The following measures were carried out: • • Internships for vocational training Individual counselling on choosing a course of study and career Psychosocial counselling, individual therapy Group Seminars o Abuse prevention, self-defence (Girls' Safety Program) o o o o Job search and application training Family Planning, Financial Planning Business and Marketing Life skills, self-management, resilience Advice on business start-ups/small self-employment In addition, our teams take care of finding an internship for each graduate as seamlessly as possible in order to bridge "idle times" and provide an insight into later professional life. 14 • • •
This year, we once again helped young people to build up their own small self-employment with Professional bakery Milk wholesale start-up grants, such as a • • • • • Beauty-Salon Fast food restaurant Further start-ups are under preparation In steps 8 to 9: We accompany young people and teach them so-called "life skills". We also offer seminars to pave the way for young adults (orphans) to become professional or self-employed. We motivate our alumni to make a contribution to children in need as soon as they earn money themselves (Step 10). • • • Project partners: TRMEGA program for vulnerable children as well as our two orphanages and schools (Canaan, Living Water and Yakini Schools). We have used donations for trainings, internships, mentoring and business start-ups for our graduates. Future: In the coming years, we will continue to need donations to help our students and graduates find their way into independence. Only then do we consider our "mission" to be complete. 15
Alumni Of course, we are particularly proud of our alumni, who arrived in their profession or self-employment. Every year we invite them to a meeting to share experience and to find out personally how our alumni are doing in life. There are amazing biographies: Athuman, for example, was one of the first orphans of the Living Water Children Centre and returned to the Yakini Schools as a human resources manager after studying and successfully becoming self-employed. Teachers Accountants Craftsmen Medical doctors Our approximately 150 alumni today are, for example: • • • • • • • • • • IT Professionals Nurses Midwives Meteorologists Pharmacists Safariguide Frank has found a job at a private television station and is now the station's 8 p.m. news anchor man. Ezekiel runs a school, Osmond Soka earns his money successfully as a stand-up comedian. Juvenal has become a doctor at a government hospital, Witness is the marketing officer of the Westerwelle Foundation in Arusha. Godlisten works for a balloon safari operator as a photographer, Calvin is a building contractor, Miriam works for an NGO in Iringa. 16
Public Relations This year, the focus of the public relations work was rather coincidentally on a variety of collections for birthdays and anniversaries. In total, there were a record-breaking 21 events at which the work of "Partnership for Africa" was promoted and donations were received. In this context, we would like to thank all those who have renounced gifts and gifts and thus strengthened our work! Campaign "Give School": The Christmas collection on Betterplace by Inge Vogel and her friends was again a complete success! Weight loss challenge: The self-imposed goal of our friends "100 euros/lost kilo" has helped some children to get enough food. Flea market and Christmas market: This year we were again represented at the "Special Christmas Market" for social institutions at the Krefeld town hall – as well as at the Krefeld flea market "Kitsch & Kunst". Presentations, actions, collections: This year we were invited to presentations of our work at the Soroptimists Heiligenhaus/Velbert. Under the motto "Feuerzangenbowle", "Beer Drinking for Africa" and "Potato Pancake Eating", friends have collected for a good cause again this year. Numerous other companies and private individuals have been involved in fundraising campaigns for the projects in Tanzania – e.g., through collections on the occasion of Christmas, birthdays, funerals, Rotary/Lions evenings, Christmas bazaars or anniversaries. We were particularly impressed with the creative Christmas campaigns of various companies (Baulig Orthodontics, HC Arnoldi, Vetmedicum, Rottner Sporthorses), who sent us the equivalent value of their gifts otherwise distributed to customers or carried out charity campaigns! 18 o o o o o o
Sponsors and Cooperation The cooperation with our sponsors and funding organisations has been an important pillar of the success of Partnership for Africa for many years – many projects would not be possible without this support. This year, the focus was on these cooperations: • In many respects, our projects have been supported by Sternstunden e.V. – this year mainly by helping with food and school supplies for our Living Water orphanage and our Yakini schools. • The Klaus and Lore Rating Foundation supported the practical and training program in our youth workshops for young orphans this year. • The Eulenhof Foundation helped with the expansion of the Canaan Orphanage with a new play and learning house, the design of a spacious playground and the purchase of a school bus. • The La Esquinita Foundation is primarily committed to the education of children and supports our orphans on their way through school and training. • The Lavatera Foundation invested in a farm pick-up and, together with the Reiner Meutsch Foundation "Fly & Help" and Sternstunden e.V., is committed to the construction of the new preschool as of 2026. • The Handauf Foundation supported the purchase of new children's furniture for the new play and learning building. • Lions clubs (e.g., Weinheim) and Rotary clubs (e.g., Wuppertal) are among our supporters - for example, for the purchase of a new school bus. • The Sorpotimists Bremerhaven, the Soroptimist Relief Fund and the Soroptimists Heiligenhaus/Velbert campaigned for our women's projects (Girls’ Safety Program). • Corporate donations: IWEST has been one of the strong supporters of our educational program for children in need for many years. The companies Abbercom Hölscher, HC Arnoldi, Backwinkel, Baulig Kieferorthopädie, Gestüt Brune, Butz Consult, Bernhard Möllers, Ergo wir helfen e.V., Fondskonzept, KVF Henn, Stubenrauch and Hölscher, WSH Deutsche Vermögensverwaltung, Vetmedicum, Voigtländer also supported our educational program and/or our orphanages. • We have registered "Partnership for Africa" on the donation platforms Google and Betterplace.org and regularly receive donations through these platforms. • In addition, we work closely with other NGOs, such as time2help. Thanks to regular coordination meetings in Germany and Tanzania, we can tackle larger projects together than any association on its own. 20
Go there & Participate Volunteering We are happy to welcome young people over the age of 18 who spend part of their holidays or waiting times as volunteers in our orphanages and schools – a great experience for both sides! In exchange for board and lodging - 100% of the proceeds go directly to the orphanage - accommodation is provided in beautiful volunteer quarters with bunk beds and private bathrooms. The cooperation of our volunteers is designed according to the requirements in the centre and according to the personal strengths of the volunteers - because experience has shown that everyone brings something different to the table in terms of skills, which is fun for the children and helps to broaden their horizons. • • • • • • • Internship duration: 1 week to 3 months Language: Good English language skills are a prerequisite Areas of support: Assistance in teaching and caring for pre-school children, activities for older children (sports, games), homework help, help with work in the centre (garden, farm, care). Cost contribution: 200 Euro/per week for board and lodging, to be paid before departure. Guesthouse „Baobab House“ The new Guesthouse1 – built directly on the grounds of our Canaan Orphanage offers our accompanying guests the opportunity to combine a relaxed and interesting (safari) stay in Tanzania with insights into the everyday life of the children in the orphanage. Don't worry about "heavy fare", the children radiate happiness and you can see that they get a great start in life and a chance for a good school education. 100% of the accommodation costs go directly to the Canaan Orphanage and are also paid locally. The furnishings of the house are based on good hotel standards, all rooms are equipped with their own spacious bathrooms and air conditioning. Prices and availability on request at info@partnerschaft-fuer-afrika.de 1 The guest house was not financed by donations, but by private funds of the board of directors and a member and transferred to the ownership of the Canaan Center so that it generates income for the centre. 22
Finances 2025 Donation accounts In the year under review, donations were received in the form of monetary and in-kind donations. Since April 1, 2011, the Association's account has been held at Postbank and all transactions are processed through it. Donations in kind are listed separately, as the donors have waived the issue of a donation receipt. The donations received will be allocated to the respective intended donation purposes and used accordingly. The monetary donations received were forwarded to the respective partner organisations shortly after receipt or instructed in accordance with the agreed payment plan. In the case of donations that are not earmarked, it was agreed with the respective partner organization which urgent purpose the funds should serve. The receipt of donations was confirmed by the head of the organization in each case. In addition, confirmation was obtained from the project manager when the funds were re-booked to the projects within the organization. Result of the audit report On a voluntary basis, the board of directors and management have commissioned the Krefeld law firm dhpg GmbH to carry out a forensic audit every three years, including 2024. The annual financial statements for the same period of the previous year as well as the creation and maintenance of the document files were audited as examples. As a result of the audit, "no complaints" were documented. The previous audits in 2014, 2018 and 2021 were just as successful. Expenses for the management of the association and ancillary costs The expenses reported for the management of the association are made up of hourly flat rates, travel expenses and other ancillary costs. The withdrawals are compensated by the board and a sponsor so that the costs incurred are not at the expense of donations from third parties or the projects – but even then, the percentage share would be less than 1.5 percent and thus a fraction of the usual "administrative expenses" for comparable institutions. Thanks to the commitment of volunteers, we were able to save considerable costs, which are now available for assistance. In addition, technical equipment (PC, screen, photocopier, camera, etc.) are purchased from private funds and made available to the association for use. Donations in kind Donations in kind are usually taken by the board, members and accompanying guests as private luggage. It makes sense to donate clothes, shoes, toys, learning materials, etc. In addition, there are gifts from our guests and godparents for the children – this is where books make the most sense. We are also happy to receive donations in kind for auctions, raffles, Christmas market or other campaigns. This year, particularly extensive donations in kind from the board were added to the equipment of the guesthouse as well as bandages, orthoses and other orthopaedic material from the Ottobock company. Volunteering Our volunteers have once again worked hard this year: Oliver Moser, Julia Eger, Johanna Flümann, Finn Ramann, Fabienne Leonhardt, Katharina Bockshecker, Georgina Kraft, Henrike Kölschbach, Malin Letsch and Emilie Huber made important contributions during their project work on site. In addition, Julia's valuable work in the sponsorship program, the supervision and stocking of the Christmas market, Petra Lösch helped us with administrative work. Gabi Lange and Sabine Sprankmanns have sewn pillows, reading bones and other beautiful things from Africanfabric for the markets! A traffic accident involving an employee of the LWCC gave rise to the initiative of PFA, the Schlick family and Oliver Moser to conduct first aid training for managers, employees, teachers, educators and children of our orphanages and schools. Due to Oliver's expertise as a paramedic, his contribution to buy the demo doll, a lecture at Rotary by Janaa Schlick and the involvement of a professional team of the Flying Doctors from Nairobi by PFA, the trainings were a complete success. The refresher was then given by Fabienne Leonhardt and Finn Ramann, who are also trained first aid professionals. Thanks to the donations, all school buses and center vehicles could be equipped with sturdy aluminum cases with first aid material. Getting to the bottom of the causes of children's behavioral problems and working out possible solutions to problems with the center's staff was the concern of our member Johanna Flümann, who passed on her knowledge as a child and adolescent psychologist and therapist to the employees in a presentation and discussion. A win for both sides - and for the children! 27

Sustainability Association and local partners We define sustainability in such a way that it remains our primary goal to make the orphanages, schools and safe houses built by the association since 2005 usable for many more generations of children in need. This requires stable and reliable financing that is not entirely dependent on foreign donations. Therefore, the donations received are used – in consultation with the donors – on the one hand to cover running costs (school fees, food, clothing, care), and on the other hand to cost-saving infrastructure and income-generating projects. 29
Foundation A very important contribution to the sustainability of our work are endowments to our "Partnership for Africa Foundation". We ask for help, because in this way we can ensure in the long term that our work can be continued forever! In order to put our work for children in need on a sustainable footing, we set up a foundation in 2020, the proceeds of which can be used to finance part of the tasks in the long term. This is in proven hands and pursues the same goals as the association. In recent years, we have been pleased to receive endowments that help to generate income for our project work. Co-founders who, like us and our members, are interested and enjoy making a capital contribution as an endowment are highly welcome. In total, we are aiming for a sum of 3 million euros in the long term. At the same time, we continue to rely on donations to the Association "Partnerschaft für Afrika e.V.", endowments should not replace this commitment, but complement it. Background. In the past 18 years, we have acquired almost 6 million euros in donations for the Association, creating a sustainable infrastructure and the corresponding programs. As this annual report also shows, some programs are dependent on the continued flow of donations in order to continue at the same pace. Therefore, it makes sense to create a sustainable source of income with the help of the Foundation, which has been in existence since 2020. We want as many children as possible who come from emergency situations to be able to benefit from the facilities and programs we created "for all eternity"; through the further acquisition of donations - as before - and through sustainable income from growing foundation assets. Advantages for practical work: Our partners in Africa and we want to expand, consolidate and maintain what has been created in good condition in the long term instead of continuing to grow. In the event of a failure of the people who have previously acquired donations, the foundation offers a sustainable source of financing as a basic income. Founders give a self-chosen sum into the foundation's existing assets and thus increase the interest income of the Partnership for Africa Foundation. Our work The work of "Partnership for Africa" is roughly made up of two areas: the work on the ground in Tanzania and the work in Germany. Our lingua franca to and in Tanzania is English. To make it more comprehensible, we would like to outline exactly how we operate. It corresponds approximately to a full-time position and is provided free of charge by the two Board members, Friederike and Günter Heidenhof. In addition, all office, administrative and travel costs are borne privately by them and another donor. Due to our frequent and long presence on site, we are very close to the teams and the projects and are personally known and familiar with the locations as well as with the majority of the individual children, young people and adults. In Tanzania, we usually spend the first few days in meetings with our teams and project partners. According to a prepared agenda, we discuss all the issues at hand and receive the receipts for the funds spent. A large part of the discussions falls on the strategic planning for the coming months (e.g., new projects, supplementary programmes) and years as well as on the evaluation of the individual "cases" of the children and adolescents or their mothers. In addition, we visit the project sites several times and inspect the new developments. From this and in the discussions with the teams, the further requirements for the future then arise. Back home, we start again with fundraising, project applications, etc. Background The core problem: The HIV/AIDS epidemic has affected almost an entire generation of parents in Tanzania and left behind many orphans for whom the government cannot take care of. The threat of neglect of such children and adolescents is also a serious factor in the destabilization of a society. Such children are particularly vulnerable to crime and prostitution, radicalisation or flight. Our core goal: We help - through education and help for self-help - to build the next generation as a pillar of a new, strengthened society. We fight the causes of flight and radicalisation - two of the most pressing problems of our time. Why education? Children and young people are the future of the country. At the same time, they have the hardest time when society is not able to give them a good education and training. In many African countries, children in particular can rarely escape the vicious circle of poverty, illness and lack of prospects. The Association: Since the fundraising for the promotion of development projects in Africa began in 2005 on the initiative of Friederike Heidenhof, almost 6 million euros have now been invested in sustainable infrastructure and educational projects. "I was and still am convinced of the good work that is being done on the ground by our Tanzanian partners."
