Association
Our core goal
We help establish the next generation as a pillar of a new, strengthened society through education and help for self-help. In this way, we are combating the causes of flight and radicalisation – two of the most pressing problems of our time.
These are our members:

Friederike Heidenhof
Dipl.-Ing. agr./M.Sc. (initiator, managing director), agricultural engineer with a master’s degree in tropical agriculture, for many years in a leading position in an agricultural publishing house of the federal government, later working on communication and change management in the chemical industry. Author of the book “African Heroes” as well as three other non-fiction books. Friederike Heidenhof was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany by Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in 2022.
Tasks: Management of “Partnerschaft für Afrika e.V.”, financial and budget planning, programme planning, fundraising and donor support, public relations, project management and evaluation, project partner support, volunteer and guest programme, association management and accounting.

Karsten Lutte
Leading function and board member of the retail company Bauking AG, Hanover.
Tasks: As a founding member of “Partnership for Africa e.V.”, supporting fundraising and public relations, advisory function in shaping the future of the association’s work

Dr. Iris Rommerskirchen
Chemist, long-time managing director in the steel industry, shareholder and chairwoman of the advisory board of Rommerskirchen GmbH, consulting work in the steel industry.
Tasks: As a founding member of “Partnership for Africa e.V.”, supporting fundraising and public relations, advisory function in shaping the future of the association’s work, maintaining contact with sponsored children.

Julia Eger
Certified Tourism Specialist, Africa Sales & Product Expert at a specialized tour operator for tailor-made trips to Southern and Eastern Africa. Country focus Kenya and Tanzania.
Tasks: Supportive fundraising and public relations, sponsorship coordinator, social media

Johanna Flümann, M.Sc.
Psychologist, child and adolescent psychotherapist (AKiP, University Hospital Cologne), psychological counselling of the caregivers on site in connection with behavioural and developmental problems in children and adolescents in the programs.
Tasks: Supportive fundraising and public relations, advisory function in shaping the future of the association’s work, psychological counselling in connection with orphans.

Dr. Günter Heidenhof
Chairman of the Board
Lawyer and development economist, many years in a leading position at the World Bank in Washington, Ghana, Madagascar, India. Consultancy assignments in many sub-Saharan African countries, North Africa, the Middle East. Government advisor on reforms of the judiciary and public administration as well as anti-corruption.
Tasks: Board work of “Partnership for Africa e.V.”, focus: Foundation management, legal issues and contracts, project consulting, IT and procurement, project trips

Dr. med. Ursula Leuchtenberg
is a doctor of psychotherapy; for many years she held a leading position in research and marketing in the pharmaceutical industry; since 2008 she has been practising as a psychotherapist with a focus on psycho-oncology, trauma therapy, traditional Chinese medicine and coaching.
Tasks: As a founding member of “Partnership for Africa e.V.”, supporting fundraising and public relations, advisory function in shaping the future of the association’s work; Advice and training of the caregivers on site.

Dr. med. Simon Flümann
Specialist in paediatrics and adolescent medicine, paediatrician in private practice, specialist in paediatric pneumology.
Tasks: As a founding member of “Partnership for Africa e.V.”, supporting fundraising and public relations, advisory function in shaping the future of the association’s work, medical advice in connection with orphans.

Paula Flümann, M.Sc.
Masters in Molecular Medicine, Bachelor’s degree in Biomedicine, Medical-Technical Assistant.
Tasks: Supportive fundraising and public relations, advisory function in shaping the future of the association’s work, medical advice in connection with orphans.

The association’s board also works on a voluntary basis and, together with another supporter, bears all administrative costs (including travel expenses) privately. The board and members are personally on site for several weeks every year to plan, control and evaluate the projects.
