Projects
To help our children escape poverty, we have built our own orphanages and schools, created safe houses and youth workshops, and established educational and vocational training programs.

Orphanages
Canaan HIV Children’s Village
Our Canaan Children’s Village is specially designed to meet the needs of HIV-infected children, but also other children from emergency situations – such as hunger, poverty, neglect, violence, abuse, the threat of forced marriage and circumcision – also find a safe home here.
Living Water Orphanage
Our Living Water Children Center is an orphanage for all children from emergency situations (see above), and the orphanage has also made a name for itself in the safe care of children with albinism.

Educational support

Schools
primary school, secondary school
In order to enable our often traumatised (orphan) children to attend a good school in a protected environment, we have built our own schools for up to 1000 children. In the Yakini Primary School education goes up to the 7th grade, in the Yakini Secondary School it goes up to the high school maturity after the 11th grade.

Career preparation
seminars, mentoring
internships, career counselling
start-up promotion
The path from graduation to real independence is often the most difficult one. We help the young people take the right path through preparatory seminars, internships, career guidance – sometimes with the help of mentors. If the job search is unsuccessful, we help establish(small) self-employment.

Youth workshops
trainings, safe house
In our youth workshops, our students learn not only practical skills in seminars, but also theoretical basics for possible later independence. In the affiliated hostels (safe houses) they can spend holidays and waiting times when there is no family left.
